The incident occurred at SUNY Westchester Community College in Valhalla.
Two people were stabbed at a community college in New York on Wednesday following a dispute, authorities said.
Two suspects are in custody in connection with the incident, which occurred at SUNY Westchester Community College in Valhalla, police said.
Westchester County Police said it received multiple 911 calls reporting the stabbing at approximately 12:40 p.m. Wednesday.
The incident occurred "following a dispute that turned physical," the Westchester County Police Department said.
The two victims were transported to a local hospital for medical care, one with serious injuries, according to police. The Westchester County Police had initially said there were three stabbing victims, though later updated that report was "erroneous."
"Two suspects were taken into custody and a knife was recovered," the Westchester County Police Department said in a statement.
The suspects were treated at an area hospital for injuries "associated with a fight," police said. Neither suffered a stab wound.
No additional suspects are being sought in the incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the college community, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, the Westchester County Police Department said.
SUNY Westchester Community College President's Office said the campus' David Swope Student Center is closed until further notice following the incident.
"Our top priority is ensuring a safe and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, and staff," the statement said.
