Philadelphia police searching for suspects in series of armed robberies
Police urged anyone who sees the suspects to not approach them and contact 911.
Philadelphia police are asking for help identifying masked suspects who carried out a series of armed robberies in the last week.
On Sunday, the suspects allegedly carried out five robberies throughout the Northern Liberties, Center City, Spring Garden and North Philadelphia-West neighborhoods of Philadelphia between the hours of 4 and 6 a.m., police said.
The suspects were both armed with handguns, one of which had a flashlight/laser attachment, and used a stolen black Honda Accord, which has since been recovered by police, authorities said.
The suspects allegedly took the victims' bags and phones, but no injuries have been reported, police said.
On Tuesday between the hours of 5:30 and 6:30 a.m., several masked suspects initiated robberies at gunpoint at the Fairmount and Temple University areas of the city, police said. Two to three suspects demanded victims' belongings at gunpoint using firearms equipped with lasers, police said.
In these robberies, the suspects used a red Honda Accord with heavy tint, a sunroof and chrome door handles, police said.
Police released surveillance footage of multiple robberies and the vehicle used in the crimes on Tuesday.
The suspects are described as Black males between the ages of 16 and 20 with a thin to medium build who were wearing all black clothing, ski masks and red gloves with black palms, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Police urged anyone who sees the suspects not to approach them and to contact 911 immediately.
